Streptavidin Magnetic Beads

Capture biotinylated molecules, antigens, antibodies, and cells

Introduction

The streptavidin magnetic beads are superparamagnetic microspheres with uniform particle size and regular morphology. The beads are covalently coupled to streptavidin and blocked with BSA, which is ideal for capturing biotinylated proteins and other targets.

Applications

The streptavidin magnetic beads can be used to isolate biotinylated molecules, such as antigens and antibodies. They are suitable for immunocapture, phage display, biopanning, drug screening, and cell isolation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we recommend MB-SA300C which is sterile.

The Streptavidin Magnetic Beads contain over 20 µg of streptavidin protein per mg of beads.

For MB-SA001, there are approximately 5 x 10^8 particles/ml of beads.

For MB-SA002, there are over 1 x 10^9 particles/ml of beads.

We do not recommend reusing the beads. The streptavidin-biotin bond is one of the strongest biological bonds known, and the conditions necessary to break this bond also destroy the streptavidin molecules.

For dissociating biotinylated DNA from Streptavidin magnetic beads, we recommend heating in 10 mM EDTA, 95% formamide, pH 8.2, for 5 min at 65 degrees C or for 2 min at 90 degrees C. Alternatively, the beads-DNA complex may be boiled for 5 min in 0.1% SDS.
