Product Background

Lymphocyte antigen 6 complex locus K (LY6K), a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored protein, plays a dynamic role in cancer metastasis. LY6K is expressed in testicular cells and assists fertilization by facilitating the migration of spermatozoa toward the oviduct. Additionally, LY6K is also expressed in human cancer cells and is, therefore, one of the cancer/testis antigens (CTA). Furthermore, the deficiency of LY6K suppresses transforming growth factor‐ β (TGF‐β) signaling and thereby Smad1/5 and Smad2/3 signal transduction.
